your eyes fill, you weep,
tears stream down your pretty face
still I walk away

and that of his lover
are my revenge

a veritable puzzle –
but I will crack you

she squeezes my hand,
tears trickling down her cheeks –
my first day at school

Her anguish melted my heart –
maybe one more chance

the urn was still there,
sitting on the mantlepiece –
couldn’t let her go
