  • Isaac newton was born in Woolsthorpe on January 4th 1643
  • He was a physicist and a mathematician
  • He discovered gravity in his work of mechanics during the 1680's

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • One of the most scientific intellects of all time
  • Entered Cambridge university in 1661
  • He was elected a fellow of trinity college in 1667
  • In 1696 he moved to London as a warden of the Royal Mint
  • He was knighted in Cambridge in 1705

ACHIEVEMENTS CONTINUED

  • He was elected a fellow of the royal society of London in 1671
  • In 1703 he became president , being annually re-elected for
  • The rest of his life
  • Newton became the most highly esteemed natural philosopher in Europe I

HIS BELIEFS

  • While being a great philosopher, newton had great beliefs
  • He read the bible daily, believing it to be the word of god
  • He spent more time investigating religious issues
  • He was not satisfied with with the Christian interpretations
  • He rejected the philosophy if the holy trinity
