PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The purpose of the parable is to tell the disciples not to love your Earthly things. Because when you die it will no longer matter.

AUDIENCE

  • The audience is Jesus's disciples

The event that prompted Jesus to tell this parable was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possesions.

The pharisees heard Jesus saying these things and sneered at him because they loved money.

This is a 2 point reference parable. The characters are the manager and the rich man.

The main characters are the rich man and the manager. They were worried about if they will lose their possessions. They represent greedy men and it is hard for them to get into heaven.

Jesus was trying to teach us that worldly men are more clever in dealing with worldly riches and the children of God are diligent for everlasting life.

Geneva Study Bible Commentary:
1. Often friendships were purchased
2. Worldly riches are misused and are often the root of sin
3. Poor proceed and come from a good fountain; but he calls those things riches of iniquity which men use wickedly
