Ngauruhoe is New Zealand's youngest and most active volcano.There was over 70 ash eruptions between 1839 and 1975,although it has been sleeping science then.That's an eruption every two or three years on average.

  • Traditionally Ngauruhoe has erupted at least every
  • 9 years but there has been no eruption since 1975
  • There are 4 seismographs, chemical analysis of gases, and airborne gas
  • Monitoring is done regularly. 2 continuos gps stations, 2 web cameras
