ROSA PARKS, MY STORY

Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks was one of the best history making people in the past. She lived a good life until high school when she dropped out to take care of her parents. The day she got arrested for not getting up on the bus is not because she was tired, but because she was tired of giving in said Rosa. All her family died before she did including her husband.

I chose to write about Rosa Parks because she was the main idea in the story. She was a very inspiring person to everyone. Because of her, people started standing up for what they believed in . Also others started a boycott to show their hate when she was arrested.

The Bus Boycott in Montgomery
The boycott in Montgomery was very big. The town had meeting for blacks to talk about the so called boycott. Everyone did it. Blacks started to get taxis to drive them to work instead of buses. That caused all bus companies to lose a lot of money. Black taxi drivers started to get arrested for doing so. It continued for more than a year until it got shut down by an old law found by white lawyers.

I chose to write about the bus boycott because is was a huge and exciting event. The whole entire event was all put together by Martin Luther King Jr. And of corse, Rosa.

Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King was very successful. He was middle class and even some white we're scared of him. He was a member of the NAACP. He put together organizations and events to help black get their rights. Unfortunately, he was stabbed by a white women during one of his announcements. But later got shot and killed.

I chose to write about Martin Luther King Jr. Because he is a major person in history. He improved the life's of many others including Rosa.

Scottsboro boys
The Scottsboro boys where a group of 9 African American men. They were traveling on trains looking for jobs going from town, to town. White people started throwing rocks at them so they did the same. They later got arrested and accused of rapping to women while they were on trains. They did not do it but were found guilty and sentenced to death.

I chose to write about the Scottsboro boys because it shows how blacks were mistreated by everyone, even the government. Also it was a very big event in history.

The KKK
The Klu Kluk Klan were a big group of very bad people. They burnt crosses in the front of black people yards to scare them. They even admitted that they were murders and killed some black people they didn't like.

I chose to write about the KKK because they were very bad but important. The KKK didn't even get arrested when they did the things they did because people were afraid of them.

NAACP
The NAACP was a big group of people that put together an organization to help get rights to blacks. Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King worker here. They would start everything that went around. Like the boycott, a big march and more.

I chose to write about the NAACP because it was a huge threat to white people. White people hated the NAACP because it was a threat that helping black people get rights.

Whites, and blacks schools
The schools were totally different. White schools went on for about 9 months and black schools went for around 6. White teachers got paid way more than a black teachers did. Black people were even paying to build white schools and they didn't even know it.

I chose to write about both the schools because it is an example of racism against both black and whites. It was not fair back then but nobody could do anything because they made the school out of the taxes everyone paid.
