VICKERS MACHINE GUN

  • Made by the British
  • Water cooled
  • Fired 450 rounds a minute
  • 20 kg
  • Effective up to 4'500 yards

LEWIS GUN

  • American made gun but used by Belgium
  • Air cooled
  • 47 cartridges for the ground and 97 for the plane
  • Shot 500-600 rounds a minute
  • Effective for 600 meters
Used later by the British as well.

GERMAN MG 08

  • German make, made from a copy
  • Made charges suicide and informed trench warfare
  • Fired 400-450 rounds a minute
  • Effective up to 2000 and 4000 yards
  • Water jacket cooled
