LOCATION OF LEBANON

  • It is east of the mediterranean sea
  • Syria is to its east
  • It is directly north of Israel

THE TWO ETHNIC GROUPS THAT ARE IN CONFLICT

  • Christians (Minority)
  • Islams (Majority)

REASON FOR CONFLICT

  • The christians want the holy land but the muslims do not want to move
  • Its more over location rather than the religions themselves

Type of Violence

  • This type of violence is open violence
  • Resulting in 350,000 dead or wounded
  • 900,000 people had to leave the country
  • The UN had to send in troops to try to keep peace between the two groups

Solutions to the Conflict

  • Split the land between the two groups
  • Let the UN send in more troops to try to break up the conflict
