• The cold war proceeded the second world war
• Russia and US had different thought about Germany
• The term cold comes from politcal battle instead of guns
• Guns are referred to warm or hot because of the killing

CAPITALISM VS COMMUNISM

• Capitalism- economy to the hand of the wealthy
• Small group of people own land
• Communism-power to the state
• State offers power to everyone equally

CONTAINMENT

• The US wanted ro contain Russia
• They wanted to stop the spread of communism
• Russia revolted by invading Afghanistan
• Russia and China were spreading communism

KITCHEN DEBATE

• The US and Russia had a debate over kitchens
• US argued that capitalism is better than communism because you can have a kitchen
• Broadcast on television
• Basically talked about the typical american house
• And how capitalism is better than communism
