DALTON'S ATOMIC THEORY

  • All matter is made of atoms. Atoms are indivisible and indestructible.
  • All atoms of a given element are identical in mass and properties
  • Compounds are formed by a combination of two or more different kinds of atoms.

DALTON'S THEORY

  • The essence of Dalton's theory is still correct but there have been more discoveries made
  • Dalton often did experiments with gases and this is what led him to think and discover that everything whether liquid, gas, or solid has to be made out of something.
  • These are one of the first recorded elements which were first seen in John Dalton's book "New System of Chemical Philosophy

DALTON'S DIAGRAM

  • Dalton's diagram of an atom is just a plain circle
  • There is nothing special or complex about it

Other Facts
• John Dalton was in fact colorblind
• He could only see yellow
