PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Fad Diets have existed for years. The first fad diet goes all the way back to 1863 when William Banting invented the low carb diet. It's been approximately 150 years since we've been using Fad Diets and not much has changed in the least.
The first fad diet programs began popping up in the 19th century in America, usually around sanitarium health spas. It wasn't until the 20th century that fad diets became a very regular thing in pop culture.
The Master Cleanse has been around for more than 50 years and goes by many names: the lemonade diet, the cayenne pepper diet, and most recently, the Beyonce diet. Beyonce Knowles popularized the diet when she announced she’d lost 20 pounds on the diet for the movie Dreamgirls.
The diet was originally created by Stanley Burroughs as a modified juice fast that permits no food, substituting a lemonade mixture made with maple syrup and cayenne pepper. It is truly a detoxification and fasting program, which also has some quick weight loss benefits. Other benefits include resting the digestive system and allowing the body to heal naturally.
The Master Cleanse usually lasts about 10 days, giving sufficient time for your body to rid itself of unnecessary and harmful toxins. During these 10 days, the only thing consumed is the liquid drink. The drink contains enough calories and nutrients to sustain your body and keep you healthy while losing weight at the same time.
