IMITATION

By Justina parks and Lahoma

MAIN IDEA

  • Behavior branches from the beliefs or punishes one believes.
  • People tend to copycat their idolized criminals.
  • They see that criminal as a inspiration.
  • So they are more likely to commit the same crime themselves.

HOW?

  • Theory came about from observing individuals
  • This theory is still valid today.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

  • Important because it makes criminals more predictable.
  • Ex: the fame or attention a criminal receives by the media
  • Could push someone to do the same crime for attention.

CAN IT BE FIXED?

  • Offer positive roll models to people
  • Positive roll models would cancel out negative ones.
