Aim For Righteousness

Now that we've established that fact, what are some of the ways that people decide what is right today?

Rather speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ

God doesn't just wants us to speak the truth. He doesn't just want us to say loving things. He wants us to communicate truth lovingly.

One of people's favorite verses to use (the better word is abuse) is Mt. 7:1 where Jesus says "Judge
not, that you be not judged."

Why do think people love to quote this verse so much?

Here's another verse that Jesus spoke that nobody seems to know exists! John 7:24 "Do not judge by
appearances, but judge with righteous judgment.”

What is Jesus saying? What is righteousness judgement?

As you aim for righteousness...

• make sure it’s His righteousness that you’re aiming for
• aim with humility
• aim to be a loving, truth-teller
• know that you can’t get your life right without Jesus Christ, the Righteous
