PRESENTATION OUTLINE

6 Characteristics:
1- body pigmentation in vertical bands.
2- eyes are a greenish yellow
3- upper head and back are a darkish greenish, with bluish greenish and silver overtones.
4- sides with greenish was over silver ground color.
5- dark spots on the operculum.
6- dorsal, caudal, and anal fins marked with dark vermiculations and light spots.

Life of fish:
The maximum size is 510mm. Spawning season is late march - early May. They mature in about a year, and can live up from 8-10 years. Eats zooplankton for the first year, then move on to insects and forage fish.

Habitat and distribution:
Streams, lakes, ponds, and slow moving areas of large rivers.

Fish was found very abundant in Lake Texoma.

Tactics for catching:
They are versatile feeders and will be drawn to baits such as insects, worms, and small crayfish and minnows.

Regulations:
In Texas the daily bag limit is 25, the minimum state wide length is 10 inches. And some areas have seasonal regulations.
