  • Crime statistics rose during the prohibition era instead of decreased as they thought.

  • Alcohol was illegal, but people still made it and sold it, they were called moonshiners
  • Illegal bars and clubs called speakeasies where people drank alcohol and did other illegal activities were all over the place.
  • Crime actually got worse instead of better like lawmakers thought it would.
  • Moonshiners often got caught
  • Al capone was notoriuos gang leader
