NATURAL RESOURCES

The oceans and forests provide many different types of foods like salmon.
They also provide materials, like the cedar tree, that are used for clothing, transportation, and shelter.

CLIMATE

The climate of the Pacific coast is mild - not too cold or too hot.
The west coast does receive a lot of rain.
This type of climate allows for the trees of the forest to grow very tall.

COASTAL RAINFOREST

Coastal forests are dense with small plants, like ferns, growing beneath the large trees.
Coastal trees can grow as tall as 60 metres.
