INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MINING
WHAT WAS MINING BACK IN THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION SHORT AND LONG TERM
Short term: In1840, the Royal Commission on Employment in Britain discovered that women, men and children were expected to carry loads of coal from underground.
Long term: Before the Industrial Revolution, two types of mines existed drift mines and bell pits. Both were small scale coal mines.
WHAT WERE THE CONDITIONS LONG AND SHORT TERM
Short term:Children and youth also comprised a relatively large proportion of the work forces in coal and metal mines in Britain.
Long term: If miners had a high standard of living, they had a low standard of work.
