1.
Background
July 20th 1993 Alice Paul took the next step in authorizing the(era)
Presented as the Lucretia Mott amendment this recognized men/women have equal rights
Introduced to every congress between 1923-1970 .1940-1960 Eleanor opposed it
Phyllis Schlafly are that the era would take a lot of laws away such as
Protective laws like sexual assault & alimony would be taken away
2.
CONTINUED..
The tendency for the mother to receive child custody/ divorced eliminated
All male military draft would become unconstitutional
Single sex restrooms would be banished by future courts
3.
FAVOR ERA
In the 21st century women have greater psychical and mental strength
Equal means same values as humans one human life is as good as another
When it comes down to it we are humans not one gender is greater than another
We should be proud as society to have the era because it shows how far we have gotten
They aren't weak nor infer to men we have to remember God created us both equal
4.
ARGUMENTS AGAINST ERA
As a society we agree but nature & biology doesn't allow us to
That if women wanted to be treated equally they wouldn't be shown chivalry at work
And would have to give up some of their advantages.
Equal by law but not by mind.
Women weren't meant to cook and clean even with education they have different priorities
5.
OPINIONS FROM US
We as a group feel women should be treated equally bc
Women couldn't get the same education as mean but this is different bc a lot
Of things has changed since before. Laws has passes women can do anything that men can do
As well there was strong women leader in the past and currently is now. We feel Alice Paul fought for era
We feel that as a society we should be moving forward instead of backward. We can't change how women
6.
OPINIONS COUNT.
We're treated in the past but we can
Oversee that and move forward.
