  • Isaac Newton was born in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire
  • He was born in C.1643
  • When he worked and studied at Cambridge University
  • His area of expertise was mostly science and gravity
  • He also contributed to mathematics with calculus

WOOLSTHORPE

WHAT WERE HIS MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS?

  • He created the principia which was 3 books
  • It explained how the 3 laws of motion work
  • He also new about the composition of light
  • With this he learned that white light was heterogeneous

QUOTE FROM ISAAC NEWTON

  • "I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people"
  • This quote explains how he is good at doing science related things but not people
  • He explains how people are different in how they think is unique
  • He can understand himself but the way others think is unique to them

HUMANISM

  • Isaac Newton contributed greatly to this
  • He has changed the way that we think
  • Even though he was deeply religious he still created the laws of motion
  • They don't help you get to heaven which shows that it isn't all about religion
  • He never really showed his religion and beliefs in the work he did

HOW HAS HE AFFECTED US TODAY?

  • He has changed many things that we learn in school
  • In school because of him we learn calculus
  • We also know how the forces of motion work
  • Without the principia we wouldn't understand the laws of motion
