WHAT IS PROMETHIUM?

• Rare-earth metal
• Least abundant
• Highly Radioactive
• Named after a greek god
• Has two former names

HOW IS IT FOUND?

• Never been found on earths surface
• Can only be artificially made

FACTS

• Glows a pale blue or green due to radioactivity
• Used In compass dials after radium was discontinued
• Used in fluorescent lightbulbs
• Lanthanide (57-71)
