WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • The globe was first opened in 1599
  • Opening times: 10:00 to 17:30
  • Function: theatre
  • Its was closed in1642
  • Its in London England

WIERD FACTS

  • Men had to play as woman and wear make up
  • The make up often kills them because of the lead
  • The globe has no roof and light comes from lamps
  • When rain pours sometimes the play just carries on
  • It is different because the shape of it is round

OTHER FACTS

  • It doesn't have a roof because it was built in the tudor times
  • The tudors didn't have electricity so they used the sun
  • It is more expensive to sit in the galleries in the back
  • The globe can fit up to 3000 people in total
  • People would even skip work to see shakespeare plays

GREAT FIRE OF THE GLOBE

  • The globe burnt down in 1613 when henry Vlll was preforming
  • It happened when a cannon in the play lit up the thatched roof
  • It burnt down even more times when people didnt like going there
  • It was rebuilt after that but it didn't last very long
  • It was then rebuilt again in 1997 to the newest form
