PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1.
ECOLOGY SCAVENGER HUNT
By: Hunter Erichsen and Alex Cotter
2.
BIOTIC VS ABIOTIC
3.
REASONING
The rock is the abiotic factor because it doesn't live
The tree is obviously a living organism, so it is biotic
They exist in the same ecosystem together
4.
AUTOTROPH VS HETEROTROPH
5.
AUTOTROPH VS HETEROTROPH
This is an easy example of the two because of:
The bush makes its own food, this being an autotroph
While humans have to obtain food sine they can't produce it
This makes them a heterotroph
6.
PREDATOR VS PREY
7.
REASONING
This is a predator-prey relationship
The Killer Whale hunts the fish and eats it
The fish swims away and doesn't want to be eaten by him
8.
MUTUALISM
9.
REASONING
This is Mutualism because of this reason:
The bird eats the bugs out of the grass
So the bird gets dinner and the grass doesn't get eaten
10.
COMMENSALISM
11.
REASONING
The bird lives in the tree and gets free shelter
While the tree gets nothing...
12.
PARASITISM
13.
REASONING
This is a human example of parasitism
The lunch is being stolen from the backpack
The analogy here is the fact that the person is benefiting by getting a free lunch
The person is negatively being affected by LOSING their lunch
14.
FOOD CHAIN
15.
REASONING
The algae (producer) is eaten by the fish (primary consumer)
Then the fish is eaten by the cat (secondary consumer) then
Finally eaten by the dog AKA wolf (tertiary consumer)
16.
CARBON CYCLE (HOW IT ENTERS)
17.
REASONING
Carbon can enter the atmosphere by:
Car exhaust, burning wood, respiration, and decaying organisms
18.
CARBON CYCLE (HOW IT LEAVES ATMOSPHERE)
19.
REASONING
The photo is showing the plants as a way
The carbon leaves the atmosphere
20.
THE END
