Benjamin Franklin was a leading and influential political theorist, inventor and scientist. He lived from 1706 to 1790 and is considered one of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America.

discovered the bifocal glasses, iron furnace stove, lightning rod and electricity.

Electricity was there in the past but he discovered great deal about it such as the positive and minus charge, battery, condensers and conductors.

He also invented the glass armonica and water bulkheads for ships.

He also served as president of the Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery, wrote many tracts urging the abolition of slavery and petitioned the U.S Congress for it in 1790.
