KATHRINE MCCOY

BACKGROUND

• Katherine McCoy was born on October 12, 1945 in Decatur Illinois
• She is an American designer and presenter
• She studied industrial design at Michigan State University
• In Fall 1971 McCoy began her career in design education when she was appointed
• co-chair of Cranbrook Academy of Art graduate design program

THE INSPIRATION

• Modernism- philosophical movement, had cultural trends and changes
• Arose from wide-scale & went to far reaching transformations in Western society in 19-20th centuries
• Lots of contrast in her work
• She uses a lot of different objects with different colors to catch attention
