PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Rosemary Patterson is one of the many African Americans who gets to go to a white school.
A couple of days before the school began Rosemary's best friend J.J gets polio and becomes very sick.
Rosemary has to go to the school all alone and she gets accused of stealing a white girls sweater so her teacher try's to teach her tolerance.
Rosemary starts to get friends because she gives a speech and show's that black people like her belong.
At the parent teacher conferences Mrs. Hamilton comes up to Rosemary's mom and tells her that Rosemary has been telling the students (her classmates) about black people having the same privileges as white people.
Rosemary becomes good friends with Mrs. Hamilton's daughter Grace but Grace's parents will not allow them to be friends because Rosemary is black.
Rosemary and Grace decide to meet secretly, but Mrs. Hamilton finds out and threatens them that if they go near each other again Mr. Hamilton will get involved.
It is hard for Rosemary and Grace to stay away from each other because they are in the same class.
Rosemary's mom convinces Grace's parents to let them be friends.
