What is a Knight?

A knight was a soldier that served a lord or noble superior to him.

Steps to Knighthood

A person had to go through many steps to become a knight.

-This was the first step to a knight.
-Became page at 7.
-They were a servant to the lord they would become a knight for.

Squire
-Become squire at 14
-squires learned about chivalry.
-they learned how to fight and ride horses.

Knighthood

-a squire was dubbed a knight at 21.
-they became a soldier that served a lord or noble.

Chivalry

-chivalry was a code for how Knights were expected to live.
-dealt with things such as courage, honor and justice.
