It was a period of time from the 1940s to the 1970s where all "blacks" we're not treated equal and then some people tried to change that like Martin Luther King Jr. and many more people tried to make everyone equal. The civil rights movement helped all "blacks" because after the civil rights movement they were equal and could go in the same stores as "whites". Some laws that were made during the civil rights movement was the Voting Rights Act Of 1965 and the Civil Rights Act Of 1964. So overall the civil rights movement mattered because it gave all African Americans the right to be equal.

Martin Luther King Jr.- Gave "I have a dream speech" so then made all "blacks" motivated.
Abraham Lincoln- Made the law Emancipation Proclamation which then freed all slaves. After all slaves were free it was good that they were free but after they were free they were still separated and not treated equal.
Rosa Parks- Started the Montgomery Bus Boycott which meant all "blacks" didn't ride the bus until they had equal rights to sit anywhere they wanted on the bus and or to be equal.

During the Civil Rights Movement many laws were made. One law was the Voting Rights Act Of 1965- The law Aimed to overcome legal barriers at the state and local levels that prevented African Americans from exercising their right to vote under the 15th Amendment
The other law was the Civil Rights Act Of 1964- Which ended segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination on the basis of race,color,and religion.

There were many good outcomes of the Cicil Rights Movement like all "blacks" were now treated equal. They could drink out of the same bubblers as "whites" now and do many more things.
Another good outcome was that many laws were made from the Civil Rights Movement. The voting and civil right act were laws made during the Civil Rights Movement.
