2012

EUROPEAN UNION (EU)

This award was given because for over six decades the EU contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe.

Today the European Union is still active and is still protecting and caring for the well being of peace and rights for all.

2011

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee, Tawakkol Karman

The award was given to them because of their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women's rights to full participation in peace-building work.

I have viewed many websites but I could not find anything about the three in current times. But I assume that they are all still out there making a difference and still caring for woman's rights.

2010

Liu Xiaobo

He was given this award for his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China.

Today, Liu is serving an 11-year jail sentence in China for subversion. But many are fighting for his freedom.
