AUSTRALIA

  • The Great Barrier Reef is composed of over 2,900 individual reef
  • It can be seen from outer space
  • More than 1,500 fish species live on the reef
  • It is the world's largest reef system

ANTARCTICA

  • The Antarctic Ice Sheet dominates the region.
  • It is the largest single piece of ice on Earth.
  • Ice sheets form in areas where snow that falls in winter does not melt entirely over the summer
  • If the Antarctic Ice Sheet melted, sea level would rise by about 60 meters

INDOCHINA

  • is a peninsula in Southeast Asia lying roughly southwest of China, and east of India.
  • The countries of mainland Southeast Asia received cultural influence from both India and China to varying degrees.
  • the majority of people in the region are neither Chinese nor Indian
  • The name has its origins in the French Indochine as a combination of the names of "India" and "China"

INDONESIA

  • It consists of 17,508 islands, about 6,000 of which are inhabited.
  • The largest are Java, Sumatra, Borneo,New Guinea, and Sulawesi.
  • Borneo is the third-largest island in the world and the largest island of Asia.
  • Its highest point is Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia, with an elevation of 4,095 m (13,435 ft)

POLYNESIA

  • New Zealand is part of Polynesia
  • It has two islands the North and the South Island
  • Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans.
  • It has a large number of unique bird species.

  • The western coast is exposed to the southwest monsoons
