Their are about 10-15 hurricanes a year in the US.But usually there are about 13 a year.

On September 8,1900 in Galveston,Texas the deadliest hurricane hit. It was a category 4, and killed about 8,000 through 12,000 people. The storm surge was over 8 to 15 feet tall!

How is A hurricane formed?
It is formed when Atlantic & pacific moisture collide at the the Ecuador and it starts a tropical storm which later turns into a hurricane.
