Floodplain

Broad, flat area on both sides of a river. This is subject to flooding.

Caves

Groundwater travels along a small crack. Water dissolves and carries away solid rock. The cracks enlarge to form a cave.

Cave Deposits

An example of this would be stalactites which is water containing calcuim carbonate drips for ceilings of caves.

Wave-cut cliff

When waves erode a rocky shoreline. They create a vertical wall of rock layers.

Longshore drift

When sediment is moved up a beach by an incoming wave. The wave approaches the shore at an angle and water moves off shore.

Desert Varnish

When exposed rock in desert areas develop a dark brown or black color.
