Nomad- a member of a community of people who live in different locations, moving from one place to another. Nomads normally spend their time near towns where they were able to trade with people for needed supplies. Nomadic leaders organized vast alliances of all people to a khan. Khans would appoint leaders of allied tribes to help lead. The Nomads had great military power due to accurate arrows and coordinated movement that often overwhelmed opponents.

Genghis Khan allied with the poor because he saw value in numbers. This helped him grow his army and eventually start taking over large portions of land. He also united several tribes to make a larger army. The Mongols had a standard tribal leadership that was mostly based on families and clans. Genghis Khan ruled. supremely over everyone. The Mongol government closest to a present day monarchy. Khan ruled without a lot of checks in power, but got his morals and ideas from previous leaders.

Kublai started the Yuan Dynasty, which ruled over present-day Mongolia, China, Korea, and a few other close areas. He was considered to be the Emperor of China. The Yuan forces had overthrown the Southern Song Dynasty, and Kublai became the first non-Chinese Emperor to have power over all of China.
