How did ancient Greeks travel?
Ancient Greeks found it harder to travel by land then sea. They used boats for travel, exploring, and trade.

How did Greeks navigate?
Thales a Greek man who studied astronomy and land used divided methods for calculating the distance from land by using the stars

KERKOUROS

  • Kerkouros usually was powered by the sail
  • Kerkouros had a ram at the front for war
  • Kerkouros was designed so that people can paddle below deck

Would Greeks also travel by land?
Greeks would travel by land and they would use carts pulled by cattle

How did Greeks trade?
Greeks would often use carts for short trading goods of a shorts distance but boats would be used when trading over long distances

  • Had many battle tactics
  • Wore armor and had shelids
  • Traveled by land
  • Different soldiers for different situations

DIFFERENT GREEK SOLDIERS

  • Cavalry soliders
  • Thracian soliders
  • Auxilliary soliders

AUXILLIARY SOLIDERS

  • Poor middle class soliders
  • Lightly armed
  • Could not afford equiptment

Thracian soldiers
They fought peltasts in the 5th century BC and figured out their tactics once they broke their formation the war was won
