  • Started in 1808, but took 28 years to finish
  • Center of a busy roundabout
  • Close to the Eiffel Tower

DUNE OF PYLA

  • 107m high
  • Also known as the Dune of Pilat
  • Europe's tallest sand dune
  • It stretches 3km along France's west coast
  • Its surrounded by dense woodland littered with campsites

CITE DE CARCASSONNE

  • 52 towers topped with fairytale conical roofs
  • Walls are so well preserved that people are swept back in time
  • The fortified walls have stood for 2,500 years

  • Palace served for hunting lodge for King Francois
  • Today visitors can explore the gardens or marvel the architecture

  • The Cathedral is a jewel of gothic architecture
  • One of the finest churches in Europe
  • Built in middle ages
