  • Only American male citizens could be president when the constitution was first adopted.
  • Had to be at least 35 and been a resident for 14 years

SECTION 1.6 ARTICLE 2

  • If something happens to the president the Vice President then fills his role

ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1.7

  • The presidents cannot be changed or bargained by the congress, it must stay the same.

  • The oath is required when becoming the president.
  • The Chief Justice monitors this oath.
