  • Cyrus was a military genius, he led an army from victory to victory between 550 to 539 BC.
  • People's greatest memories of Cyrus was his kindness while governing, especially the armies whom he defeated.
  • He was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire

THE LIFE OF CYRUS

  • Cyrus built his empire by conquering the Median Empire, Lydian Empire, and the Neo-Babylonian Empire
  • Cyrus respected the customs and religions of the lands he conquered
  • Well recongnized for his achievements in human rights, politics, and military strategy

THE LIFE CYRUS

  • The name Cyrus means sun-like
  • It is not known what religion Cyrus practiced, but it's believed he followed the guidance of the Magians
  • Cyrus died battling nomadic invadors in 530 AD
