THE FIVE KINGDOMS OF LIVING THINGS

BY PLUM

QUESTION 1

  • What are the names of the five kingdoms? Protista(the single-celled eukaryotes),Fungi(fungus and related organisms),Plantae(the plants),Animalia(the animals) and Monera(the prokaryotes)

QUESTION 2
What is an example of a living thing in each Kingdom?
PLANT-Sun flower
ANIMAL-Horse
MONERA-Mycoplasma
PROTIST-Kelp
FUNGI-Mushroom

QUESTION 3
What are some pictures of organisms?

GRIZZLY BEAR/ANIMAL

BACTERIA

FLOWER

QUESTION 4
What is a difference between Animals and Plants?

ANSWER 4

  • Plants generally are rooted in one place do not move on their own. animals can move fairly freely.
  • Plants give off oxygen and take in carbon dioxide given off by animals. Animals give off carbon dioxide and take in oxygen.
  • Plants have either no or very basic ability to sense.Animals have a much more highly develped sensory and nervous system.

QUESTION 5
What Kingdom contains Bacteria?
Monera

QUESTION 6
What is the difference between Plants and fungi?
-Fungi has no chlorophyll and therefore can not make their own food.
-Fungi are exo-digesters they digest food outside their bodies by excreting enzymes that ooze out of the fungus body.

QUESTION 7
What is the difference between Protists and Prokaryotes?
Prokaryotes are usually single celled organisms.
Protists are all eukaryotes and therefore all have cell organelles.

QUESTION 8
How is each kingdom defined?
Fungi-Multicellular saprotrophic organisms and include Mushroom,Yeast, moulds etc
Also reproduce through spores
Monera-single celled prokaryote organisms bacteria that has distinctive features.
Protist-Has types of algae,All eukaryotes and all have cell organelles.
Animal-All types of animal that includes their preferences and adaptation.
Plant-types of plants, multicellular explains life cycles and preferences.

QUESTION 9
Which Kingdom contains yeast?
Fungi because they are multicellular, have a nucleus,Do not tend to move place to place and are heterotrophic.

QUESTION 10

QUESTION 11

QUESTION 12
Plants and animals keep each other alive animals give off carbon dioxide which plants take in and give out oxygen which the animal takes in without one another they would die.

QUESTION 13
Plants and algae are very different one of the main reasons plants have chlorophyll which provides food for itself and algae doesn't they are exo digesters.
