How Was Uluru Formed?
Uluru and Kata Tjuta were both formed at the same time.
It was formed over about 500 million years ago.
The big crustal blocks formed the Australian continent together.
A block called the Musgrave Province pushed up from the south.
That block created mountains in an event called the Petermann Orogeny.

How Was Uluru Formed?
The Petermann Orogeny was a mountain building competition.
When they were formed the Petermann Ranges was a high mountain range.
It was high like the Alps and the Himalayas.
Now we can see only the 'nubs' and the 'roots' as Dr Marita Bradshaw said.
The colour is red due to the oxidastion or because of the rusting metal.

Why Is Uluru Important To The Anangu People?
Australian native people call themselves the Anangu people.
They believe that they are direct descendents of these ancestral beings.
They continue to carry on with the rituals and responsibilities
towards their land.
Uluru is their homeland and where they live and were rasied.

Should Uluru Be Climbed On?
I believe Uluru shouldn't be climbed on because it is being rude to the
Anangu and Aboriginal people and to their land.
Many people are afraid that tourists will leave their rubbish on the ground
Uluru could become damaged from people if they kick or push rocks.
some people have died from climbing because of the heat or dehydration.
