This program affected the unemployed. This program benefitted them because it helped them make money to support their families. This also affected the citizens of the cities because they could get around faster.

This program was very successful. In 1938 it had employed 3 million jobless men and women. It employed a total of 8 million workers between 1935-1943.

This program is not around today. It ended on June 30, 1943 because unemployment rates were so low during World WarII.
