Theme:
The theme of ABT is to accept others but most importantly yourself.
I know this because while Jason finishes up his story on storyboard, he says in the book, "Sorry,Doc. I changed my mind. This is who I am. This is me." Jason refers to himself in this book a lot because he can't tell people because it's hard for him sometimes to communicate to people because of his autism. Jason's conflict with himself is that he does not want to write anymore near the end. The text says, "Bennu is my last fictional character ever. There will not be more. It is my last story ever." He is so upset because he thought Rebecca didn't care about his stories anymore. This is just one conflict Jason faces.

Book Review:
What i liked about "Anything but Typical", is the fact that there's a book that explains that it's okay to be different. I like that. Some people try to change to "fit in" or for other people to like them. This book tells how Jason's mother tries to fix Jason but in the end she knows he doesn't need fixing. There isn't anything to fix because Jason is Jason. There isn't anything more amazing than being unique and being yourself. I love how in the end, Jason does accept himself. My thoughts changed a lot throughout the book. I didn't like how the kids picked on him or made fun of him though.

Raise awareness for Farnsworth-
What i learned from this book is that accepting yourself first is Jason accepts himself in the end and he accepts his Mom for being the kind of woman that is paranoid about a lot or for trying to change Jason. I am not sure what we can use to raise awareness for our school, but all we need to do is be kind. If we see someone that maybe doesn't dress like everybody else, we don't have to make fun of them. What's the point. We are the same even if we have different abilities. So i think people should stop judging others. We are the same, but we should be a different kind of same. And by that, i mean even though we're the same, we should accept others in different ways.
