Paleolithic
-the early phase of the Stone Age, lasting about 2.5 million years, when primitive stone implements were used
Neolithic
- the later part of the Stone Age, when ground or polished stone weapons and implements prevailed.
Hunter-Gatherer
-a member of a nomadic people who live chiefly by hunting, fishing, and harvesting wild food.
Homo sapiens
-the only surviving hominid; species to which modern man belongs; bipedal primate having language and ability to make and use complex tools
Cro- Magnon
-an Upper Paleolithic population of humans, regarded as the prototype of modern Homo sapiens
Stone Age
-a prehistoric period during which stone was widely used to make implements with a sharp edge, a point, or a percussion surface.
Ice Age
-a glacial episode during a past geological period.
Civilization
-the stage of human social development and organization that is considered most advanced.
