HUMAN IMPACTS ON ANIMALS

• Destroying the grasslands habitat will cause there to be fewer producers which will end up in fewer food chains.
• Hunting is a negative impact because some animals are being killed to feed other humans.
• Due to this the bison population in America is almost extinct.
• Another major negative impact is that the biome is being destroyed to make farms and urban buildings.
• Destruction of the grasslands can cause extinction of animals such as bison over many years.

PLANT LIFE

• Most of the grasslands is covered with grass.
• Some plants and flowers are still there.
• Some plants are Blue Grama, Big Blue Stem and The Purple Cone Flower.
• Some tall grasses might grow up to 7 feet.
• Did you know that there are 23 species of plants per square yard in the grassland,

• A negative impact is the grass and forestry getting cut to make farms.
• Another negative is the wild fires that burn down everything and take a few years to gain back.
• When a tornado happens it leaves a big impact because everything will be destroyed and will take a long time to get back to normal.

• In the summer the temperature sometime rises up to 37 C.
• In the winter the temperature sometimes can drop to -40 C.
• Rain usually happens in the early summer time, with 20-35 inches of rain every year
• There is not a lot of trees and shrubs around.
• The ground is flat with rich soil.

HUMAN INFLUENCES

• A negative influence is that many areas of grasslands are be destroyed to make urban communities.
• 25% of grasslands have disappeared because of the destruction and new communities and farms.
• To solve this problem we can start to build houses where there is not a biome or any animals.
• When we destroy habitats we are kicking a animal out of its house.
