2.
APPLICATIONS FOR POWER
Nuclear power accounts for 13% of the worlds electricity
Nuclear power is generated from nuclear fission
The heat produced by the fission boils water creating steam
The steam then turns an electrical generator creating electricity
Nuclear energy is very safe for the environment if controlled correctly

POWER IN pictures
X-ray machines use radiation to determine where bones are
CT scans use radiation and a different filter to find where ligaments and tendons are
Camera lenses made from the 1940's - 70's contain radiation
Thorium oxide acounts for the radiation, it is a component of the glass in the lens.

medical uses for radiation
Ionizing uses short wavelength rays, with high intensity to destroy any microorganisms

Radiation for public safety
These machines use a special radiated filter to find contraband in luggage and on people

Radiation everyday
Very small amounts of atomic radiation are used in some wristwatches.
Photocopiers contain small amounts of radiation
Cosmetics, and food sanitization both share atomic radiation.

Future of Nuclear energy
As nuclear energy is a moderately new phenomena, only time will tell how it will be handled
Nuclear radiation has many uses in common households that we just haven't figured out yet.
Maybe one day cars will run off of nuclear energy
Hopefully cancer will be able to be cured using radiation
Nuclear fusion would give off the energy that the sun does, so one day hopefully we can have endless energy
