What is Imperialism

  • Imperialism is when a country ttys to extend their power by taking over more land with military force.

Why was Africa taken over?

  • Africa was taken over so easily do to the fact that they weren't as advanced when it came to weapons.

  • The British, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Belge, German, and Italian.

  • This was when all the countries came together to determine how they would split up the lands of Africa.

How where the Africans treated?

  • They where very racist towards them and weren't fair when it came to taking over their land.

Why was Africa wanted?

  • Africa was so important because they had many raw materials that other countries wanted like gold and diamonds.

The Zulu

  • The Zulu where very important during this time because they where the only group of people that where willing to fight back.

Shaka

  • Shaka was the leader of the Zulu tribe during this time and is often recognized for his amazing skills at leading a tribe.

Africa Today

  • Africa was robbed of their raw materials and that has left them to date one of the poorest countries in the world.
