This is the system of government that the farmers turned to in which the power is divided between the central government and smaller political units like states. They each have power but reserved power for the states and national government.

Each branch of the government can exercise checks, or controls, over the other branches. The branches of government are separate and rely on each of them to do their work.

Limited Government
