ALLUSIONS TO PROMETHEUS

PROMETHEUS

• The name Prometheus means "foresight."
• He created men out of mud and Athena breathed their soul into them.
• Prometheus asked Zeus if mortals could receive the gods sacred fire and Zeus refused because he thought the mortals would get arrogant.
• How does this allusion add to the effects of Heart of Darkness?
