PRESENTATION OUTLINE
What causes PID is when bacteria goes up the female vagina and infects the pelvic organ.
This disease is contracted by tampons, douching, vaginal, anal, and sometimes oral sex.
The signs and symptom of this disease are pelvic pain, heavy/unpleasant discharge with an odor, and painful urination.
The treatment for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease is antibiotics or sometimes surgery to fix or remove the reproductive organ.
This disease affects ones lifestyle because you are in pain from your pelvic area, have a hard time getting pregnant, or even becoming infertile because of PID.
If PID is left untreated the infection can go into the blood and kill you.
To prevent getting Pelvic Inflammatory Disease you can use female/male condom, do not douche, or just don't have sex.
