  • Johnson was born in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England, in 1709
  • In October 1728 he entered Pembroke College Oxford.

  • Samuel famous Dictionary of the English Language appeared in 1755. 
  • Johnson famously blunt in both his writing and his conversation.
  • Johnson has been the subject of hundreds of books and thousands of articles.
