The Maya's lived near Guatemala,Honduras,Belize and in today's Mexico

The Mayan's were amazing builders and built temples
They learned how to grow crops such as corn, beans, and squash, etc.
They were the first civilization to use the concept of zero in math

Most gods in their religion represent something in nature
After the Spanish came, many Mayans were forced to switch to Christianity

Modern day Mayans still mainly live in Middle America but they can be found all over the world
There are millions of Mayans that still live on today
They are not one identity or group anymore because they speak many different languages etc.

REFLECTIONS
I find it really cool that the Mayans came up with so many new ideas
I wonder how their religion with the gods representing things in nature came about
The fact that they grow many crops reminds me of when I used to garden with my family
