  • Volcanoes.destructive collapse of coastal,island,and underwater volcanoes which can result in massive landslides

WHERE IS A TSUNAMI MOST LIKELY TO HAPPEN

  • Every coastal area and river estuary is potentially threatened by tsunami,but they are most likely to happen in Alaska,Chile,Phillipenes And Japan.

  • The U.S. States at greatest risk are Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Calorfornia
  • When a tsunami hit land it slows down
  • Tsunamis can travel 800 km per hour
  • Some Tsunamis are only 1-3 ft tall
  • About 283,000 people died in the 2004 tsunami
