The explorer I did was Samuel de Champlain

Samuel de Champlain often called after of New France was a French explorer and navigator who mapped what is nowCanada. He is known for founding the city of Quebec and exploring the Great Lakes region. Champlain was born Brouage France 1567 and learned the skills of sailing from his father a ship captain later Champlain demonstrated his skills as a navigator in his own travels to the West Indies and Central America in 1603. The following year (1604) Champlain was asked to be the geographer in another French expedition to North America. He founded the City of Quebec in 1608. To keep the settlement he needed the help of the yuron and that ment a military alliance and For Samuel that required fighting the irikoy along side the yuron. He died of natural causes in 1636

Samuel was first sponsored by Spain on a voyage to West Indies which later caught the eye off king Henri the fourth.

The reason for the expedition was to find new land to turn into a French colony. The goal was to find land for King Henri 4th

A problem that was Samuel's ship was the cold. Some of the men on board died of it, but not a lot.

Why did Samuel want to explore?
